About Josef and Rachel
Josef
After studying English literature at Masaryk University in Brno and gaining an advanced level of fluency in English, Josef began translating full-time. Initially focusing primarily on academic translations – journal articles, dissertations and essays – Josef has also built up considerable experience in business, technical and medical texts, and his exceptional English comprehension together with his Czech writing skills ensure he can handle even the most demanding of projects.
Rachel
Rachel graduated from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in chemistry, and scientific and medical texts are her particular specialism. After moving to the Czech Republic in 1999, Rachel took up a job as international project manager with a major translation agency headquartered in Prague. This gave her an inside knowledge of the translation business and a profound awareness of the factors involved in providing top-quality translations, a skill that allowed her to build up her own clientele rapidly when she began her own translation career.
